PGA 97% Aluminium Ingots

PGA Aluminium is proud to offer 97% recycled aluminium ingots, in addition to other options with 95% and 99% purity. Our aluminium ingots are available in custom sizes and weights, meeting the diverse needs of industrial applications with guaranteed quality and reliability.

Key Properties:

• Low Density (~2.7g/cm³): Aluminium is about one-third the weight of steel, ideal for applications where lightweight design is critical, such as aerospace and transportation.

• Excellent Atmospheric Corrosion Resistance: Aluminium naturally forms a tight Al₂O₃ oxide layer that protects against corrosion. This resistance can be enhanced through anodizing, eliminating the need for protective paint.

• Good Electrical Conductivity: While aluminium conducts about 2/3 as well as copper, its lighter weight makes it more efficient for power transmission, generating less heat in the process.

• High Ductility: Easily shaped into wires, sheets, foils, strips, and complex extrusions—perfect for structural and decorative applications like door frames and heat sinks.

• Moderate Melting Point (~660°C): Favors casting processes but limits high-temperature use (above 300–400°C).

• Lower Strength and Hardness: Requires alloying for mechanical enhancement in structural applications.

Aluminium Alloy Categories:

1. Wrought Aluminium Alloys

   • Includes both heat-treatable and non-heat-treatable types.

   • High-purity aluminium (>99%) is used in chemical processing, food, refrigeration (e.g. AA1060),and electrical wiring (e.g. AA1350).

   • Common alloy families: Al-Mn and Al-Mg, known for formability and corrosion resistance.

2. Casting Aluminium Alloys

   • Al-Si (Silumin) and Al-Si-Mg(Cu) systems.

   • Typically contain 5–20% silicon, with magnesium or copper to enhance mechanical properties—ideal for automotive engine components like pistons (e.g. AA390.0).
